Nothing beats Spring in the White Mountains.

The melting mountains, the rushing waterfalls, and who can resist the baby bears and moose on the side of the road, waiting for their closeups. But don’t let the calendar or the clock fool you. We still have a little winter going on here at The Snowflake Inn. Our fireplace is crackling and we’re still sending guests on their merry way for snowshoeing, skiing and sleigh rides.

We welcome you to enjoy the last days of winter and the first days of Spring. Let your spring cleaning include you…renewing body and soul with a few days at The Snowflake Inn. A muscle-relaxing fireside massage and en suite Jacuzzi await you. Wine and cheese by the fire in The Great Room on Saturday nights and our tropical indoor spa by candlelight will have you asking yourself, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”

Gary and I just practiced what I am preaching and took a few days off just for us. Admittedly, we left for the airport kicking and screaming. Will the guests be fed? Will the rooms be made up? Will the dishes and laundry be washed? Will the driveways and walkways be plowed and shoveled?

Will The Snowflake Inn survive during my absence? Guess what? It did and I did. I returned refreshed and invigorated. I am a new person.

I highly recommend getting away. I assure you, the world will continue spinning without you.

Come on up and let us help you Spring clean.

–Sue

As kids, we all remember our little rubber duckie floating around the tub or being our playmate in the pool, but what if you took 3500 of those little rubber duckies and and dumped them into Jackson Falls to race for prizes? You would have the Wildquack Duck River Festival! On Memorial Day weekend the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Wildquack Duck River Festival in the Park behind the Snowflake Inn, with great food, fun, and a chance at winning $1000, it’s a blast! The day starts at 7am with the sale of ducks for the race. There are several different sizes to choose from, each varying in price and size. $6 per duck or $20 for four. Olympic ducks are $20 and BIG ducks are $100. Enjoy yourself and have some laughs at the town park before the event with Rob Clark as our master of ceremonies. At 1pm the parade kicks off with antique cars, giant ducks, and the Stuck duck patrol. Ducks are launched at the bottom of the picturesque white waters of the Jackson Falls. From there they float down the river towards the finish lines, with crowds on the river banks cheering for their duck to be the grand prize winner. Festivities run from 10am to 4pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Snowflake Inn. Give us a call!

This virtue, Altruism, makes it hard to commit to doing something for ourselves, I know, I am my own worst enemy! To that end, our Romantic Escapes and Wellness Weekends at the Snowflake Inn are very affordable, flexible, and hopefully, too good to resist! Experience Spring in the White Mountains of New Hampshire… Do it for yourself, you will come away with a new energy, a new love for self and a lift in spirit to enable you to go home and practice a Healthier Altruism!
